Job Description
The Pharmacy Assistant is supervised by a qualified Pharmacist. Assists pharmacy employees with secretarial duties such as filling and packaging completed prescriptions and pharmaceutical items, as well as greeting clients in person and over the phone.

Qualifications:
- Develops general knowledge of the market, competitors, customer needs, distribution channels, and Company offerings for the assigned product
- Deal with all forms of payment, including cash, credit card, and check, right there at the point of sale. After your shift is over, check your daily register transactions for any irregularities and fix them as quickly as feasible.
- Back orders, discontinuations, replacements, and product transitions are all initiatives that she leads. Works with the Operations team to coordinate and convey the project strategy.
- For the pharmacy to succeed and the company’s goals to be met, it is critical to provide the right prescriptions, information, and professional services in a kind, caring, pleasant, and efficient manner
- When necessary, completes alert and reorder forms, fills floorstock request forms from patient care areas, processes charges to the relevant cost centers, receives deliveries from wholesalers and other suppliers, checks for expiry dates of pharmaceuticals, and maintains inventory management.
- Clean and tidy workplaces, frequent cleanings, and efficient waste disposal processes cannot be overstated in terms of their importance..
- In the case of an emergency, performs tasks such as sick call covering, empty position coverage, workload changes, and projects.
- Checks to make sure that the prescription includes the drug name, strength, directions for use, quantity to be given, any special instructions, and how to refill the prescription. Recognizes that generic or therapeutic substitutions could happen.
- As soon as a patient’s identification has been confirmed, such as via a claim check or health plan card examination, medications may be sold.
- Inspect all drug storage rooms to ensure that all medicines have been properly and securely kept in accordance with Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and State Board of Pharmacy standards, among others.
