Job Description
A banker’s primary responsibilities will be as a teller and/or personal banker. Customers and bank staff must be contacted often in person, via written correspondence, or over the phone in this role. At all times, strong customer service abilities are required. This job might report to many officers. In order to provide comprehensive financial services to consumers, the Banker communicates often with various departments. Work is evaluated, and performance is measured against defined objectives. The level of physical exertion required is above ordinary.

Qualifications:
- Consumer banking products and associated services are sold directly to customers to assist the Bank’s broader sales efforts.
- Purchase and sell money from the vault as needed to maintain cash limits in teller drawers under control.
- Responsible for safeguarding the bank’s assets by accurately identifying customers, keeping customer information confidential, balancing the bank’s accounts at the end of each workday, and creating suitable reports that summarize daily activities.
- Examine the endorsement on cash checks for legality and obtain proper identification.
- Preparing recommendations for clients to better their financial status, or pointing them to others who can help them.
- Maintaining a professional look and maintaining a well-organized workstation will assist you in preparing for everyday interactions.
- By asking appropriate questions and carefully listening to the responses, you may be able to obtain a deeper grasp of the customer’s objectives.
- All routine banking transactions that customers bring to you in person, via drive-up, night deposit, mail, or online should be handled by you.
- Maintain a watchful eye on branch operations to verify that all rules and procedures are adhered to.
- Including but not limited to: bank deposits/cash recovery, opening/closing the office and vault, report writing, and other job duties that assist the department operate efficiently.
Skills:
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- The banker will be taught how to use teller machines, calculators, keyboards, encoders, image capture/scanners, Oscar (ATM cards), SEI Trust System, Streamline, and Vertex equipment and software.
- Customer service and sales experience of 12 to 18 months is essential, with banking experience desirable.
- Customer relations, accuracy, speed, detail, flexibility and judgement, as well as a pleasant, professional demeanor and the ability to execute many tasks, are the most important qualities of this job.
- Knowing exactly what each retail department’s job entails and how they all fit together (deposit operations, client care, records management, etc.)
