Job Description
To put it simply, a Production Assistant works alongside hosts, producers/editors, reporters, and other contributors to create content for broadcasts. An ideal candidate will know how to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines while still producing quality work in terms of narrative and interview ideas, guest booking, and production. A solid foundation in research, writing, and communication is required for success in audio and digital/social media.

Qualifications:
- drafts host copy under editorial supervision, including but not limited to scripts, billboards, tape and copy elements, and connective copy between elements.
- Learn the ropes of the department and the production process by taking on new responsibilities as needed.
- Utilizes pertinent social media sites to gather news and engage with the audience (as required and directed).
- Maintaining props, picture sets, furniture, and walls by cleaning, painting, and fixing minor damage.
- assisting with the movement of actual products throughout the studio.
- Help with maintaining an orderly prop room and changing area.
- holding a meeting with the top brass to talk about how well the props are organized and where they are being kept. keeping track of the prop supply and informing the management of any shortages.
- Assembly and styling of toys, furniture, home decor, clothing, activities, educational materials, video games, and handmade goods for product photography.
- uses the technical aspects of filmmaking, such as composition, framing, lighting, and camera settings, to get the desired effects in a film.
- In order to get the desired depth of field, shutter speed, and overall lighting, it is necessary to reposition and/or manipulate the cameras as the director specifies.
Skills:
- proven ability to write for broadcast media, with an eye toward meeting strict language and punctuation guidelines while maintaining readability and conciseness.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
- Ability to start, plan, and generate program material for series or other long-term initiatives with little oversight.
- Experience using social media effectively for gathering information, engaging an audience, and conducting research.
- ability to multitask, set priorities, and complete tasks on time.
