Job Description

The Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital’s administration as a leader and manager. The Practice Manager works in tandem with the attending physician to ensure a smooth and profitable operation through the generation of revenue and the control of expenses, as well as the development of a service-oriented and compassionate hospital culture. Management, planning, and coordination of the entire hospital, as well as the promotion of a positive and productive working atmosphere, are under the purview of the hospital administrator. The capacity to multitask, along with great people skills, positivity, compassion, initiative, problem solving, and common sense, are all necessary for this role. As important as technical proficiency is, the ability to empathize with and effectively communicate with customers is crucial. You will also be accountable for delivering HR support to external customers and suppliers. It’s possible that you’ll have to teach veterans new tricks, and you might even have to mediate disputes between staff and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Maintain a current familiarity with data gathering, storage, and retrieval software platforms in order to produce accurate managerial reports.
  • Work with HR to assess, investigate, and resolve personnel concerns, including recruitment, retention, and termination.
  • Assist Clinical and Practice Management Leadership in communicating with the hospital to solve problems and establish priorities.
  • In partnership with the chief of staff, the Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital, managing day-to-day operations.
  • Control the number of medical, administrative, and billing staff members, and monitor how much work they get done each day.
  • Maintain an office climate that allows for the best possible patient care and customer service.
  • Scheduling associates, scheduling vacation time, and managing continuing education requirements
  • analyze and arrange office processes, such as payroll preparation, cash management, invoice processing, and other administrative tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state dental legislation, a safe work environment by complying with all local, state, and federal health and safety rules and laws, and office and company policy and procedures.
  • Manage the procurement of everyday office necessities and ensure that budgets are adhered to.

Skills:

  • Be familiar with HR fundamentals such as record keeping, confidentiality, and employment laws.
  • Direct supervisory experience preferred along with at least three years of relevant work experience in the health care, veterinary, or service industries (includes hiring, associate development, etc.).
  • Two or more years in an equivalent office management role will be considered.
  • Required skills include the ability to manage daily operations, communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and collaborate with other departments.
  • Ability to address and resolve issues with coworkers, as well as strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
