Job Description
Machine operators, such as Machinists, are responsible for setting up the machine, running it through its paces, and identifying problems, such as worn or broken cutting tools. An employee in this job is responsible for running production lots and communicating with coworkers about production runs.

Qualifications:
- To guarantee correct and safe equipment performance, dismantle and install maintenance, repaired, or replacement components into the equipment.
- Problems with tools, materials, software, equipment, or parts specs should be investigated and remedied. Recognize and propose improvements to machine performance by altering component specifications.
- Make use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, and Confined Spaces (PPE)
- A machinist is responsible for setting up and running a variety of manual and CNC machine equipment, as well as doing conventional shop calculations related to project dimensions, tooling, and feeds, in addition to using hand tools and accurate measurement instruments.
- Find out how to build a product’s components using various techniques and sequences of activities, as well as figuring out the exact dimensions and tolerances that must be adhered to.
- Using careful measurement, check finished units for faults and compliance to requirements.
- Plans and arranges work based on verbal and written directions and requirements.
- In order to ensure the production of high-quality components, collaborate with programming engineering.
- To manufacture a defined quantity of component components, undertake sophisticated progressive turning, drilling, milling, and tapping operations.
- Involved in the use of equipment such as lathes, milling & grinding machines
Skills:
- If you want to be a mechanical or automotive engineer, you need to get a two-year associate’s degree or have at least two years of experience in a related field first.
- Have the capacity to take precise measurements using precision equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, drop gages, and gage blocks).
- A machinist must be able to work in temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to do this job.
- Manual, semi-automated, and automated tool and machine use and/or programming experience (lathes, grinders etc.)
- For this job, you need to know how industrial machines work and how to work with metals in a variety of ways.
