Full-Time Custodian/Facilities Technician – Al Khurma
Job Description
To build, repair or maintain our buildings, the Facilities Technician role requires significant understanding of work which may need specific training. This role inspects sites for new construction, remodeling, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects and repairs to ensure supplies are available for the installation of systems and devices in their trade or employment. Installing and maintaining systems and equipment are the duties of the Facilities Technician. This role is responsible for arranging, performing, and documenting emergency system maintenance and testing in accordance with relevant codes, regulations, legislation, and standards.

Qualifications:
- It takes a combination of semi- and skilled jobs to maintain buildings, structures, and the surrounding grounds. Maintain the structure and address any difficulties that may arise (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
- This position’s responsibilities include setting up alerts and trends, as well as high-level data analysis and alarm reporting.
- It helps people communicate openly and professionally in order to create mutual understanding via role modeling by example. Clear and professional communication promotes both work efforts and issue resolution, ensuring the best possible service for both customers and patients.
- Organizes and motivates a team-oriented work unit to achieve departmental goals by setting an example of behaviors that foster a positive work environment.
- Checks daily logs to make sure technicians and other workers keep the central plants and daily operations of the facility running smoothly, as well as small and big problems with the facility.
- Analysis, troubleshooting, and difficult maintenance repair Ensures proper system and device installation in accordance with regulations, ordinances, and laws. Performs preventive maintenance checks of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and maintains and tests department emergency systems. If needed, escalates to Lead Tech/Supervisor to get clarity and make successful corrections.
- Schedule maintenance, projects, and general work orders using a work order system to satisfy important criteria for the facilities department
- Helps Facilities Assistants/Technicians develop confidence in their skills, knowledge, and talents by guiding and mentoring them. Peer-to-peer accountability is used to achieve departmental objectives for employee retention and engagement.
- Through rounding and issue management, ensures that all entities are thoroughly monitored; identifies opportunities for complex facility improvements, provides recommendations and work orders, and supervises the completion of these improvements in order to enhance the customer experience and improve service levels.
- Make decisions about how a team’s work is done by allocating routine, operational responsibilities in accordance with defined priorities.
Skills:
- Demonstrates the abilities and competencies required to do the given work safely, as assessed by ongoing skill, competence, and performance evaluations.
- a degree from an accredited college or university (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
- Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling, and general maintenance are just a few examples of trades that need advanced understanding.
- a good enough command of the English language in speaking, reading, and writing to carry out the main tasks of this job, especially in terms of actions that could have an impact on patient or worker safety or security.
- being able to do job activities that include the ability to bend and twist one’s upper body, work in tight quarters and climb hand-over-hand through tiny openings, lift 50 pounds and work on ladders/lifts in noisy, hot, dusty or cold environments is a prerequisite.
