Job Description
The Equipment Operator is responsible for driving a range of heavy equipment trucks that disseminate and compress construction demolition, commercial, and residential garbage at the post collection sites.

Qualifications:

- Carry out the responsibilities of an Equipment Operator, including but not limited to: logging all equipment operations, maintenance, and gas consumption
- Operates and drives light to moderately complex equipment for city and utility maintenance, such as rubber-tired backhoes, tracked excavators and loaders, maintenance vehicles such as bobcats and street sweepers, and front-end loaders; clears debris from streams and creeks, and keeps the sanitary sewer system in good working order.
- In order to ensure the long-term viability of construction equipment, mechanical maintenance and repairs are carried out on a regular basis by the mechanics.
- Safely use mowers, front-end loaders, and air hammers without endangering yourself or others. This includes manual labor such as mowing, repairing, and shoveling asphalt and snow.
- The utilization of material movement equipment is used to move and place raw materials and final components. As a reference for operating and maintaining your vehicle, use proper standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for the safe transportation of earth-moving or other heavy vehicles to the project site using a truck and trailer rig.
- Uses heavy machinery in accordance with the company’s safety standards and procedures. Performs regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance; keeps detailed records of findings.
- It is the responsibility of this division to transport and unload construction supplies such as sand, flexbase, asphalt, gravel, and other materials from City stockpiles or suppliers for the purpose of supplying building or maintenance projects throughout the City.
- Carry out regular chores to maintain the maintenance facility clean, orderly, and safe. After every usage, clean the equipment. Examine all machinery and notify the Equipment Technician of any flaws.
Skills:
- A working knowledge of the job’s inherent dangers and permissible safety measures, as well as general construction techniques, methods, and materials. Superior hand dexterity and physical stamina.
- High school diploma or GED required (GED), Two years’ experience in mechanical assembly, forklift operation, or related machine operation. Valid driver’s license.
- You are required to have a minimum of six months of experience working as an Equipment Operator I or a minimum of one year of experience working in a capacity that is comparable. Experience on the job may be replaced with education if it is in a field such as turfgrass management.
- Exceptional communicator who is open and transparent with all parties involved. Maintaining and operating power-driven machinery and tools
