Job Description
The Economist will do research on the industry, the market, and the economy to help the organization meet its goals or find a solution. In this job, the person will use a variety of data collection and statistical techniques, prepare the results for analysis, and share their findings with other people to help them think about possible strategies and keep coming up with new ideas.

Qualifications:
- Identify the data and techniques required to conduct rigorous, impartial research that fills knowledge gaps and informs new policy and strategy.
- Work with other economists and senior level executives to communicate and present economic concepts and quantitative data, both orally and in writing, especially to non-technical people, and work together.
- Researchers may need to address difficulties with sponsors, managers, or senior employees. Organize the investigation, oversee its execution, and then deliver the results to ensure that all parties involved gain from the experience.
- A senior economist will supervise you in conducting economic research; you will analyze and interpret data, develop benefit estimates, and present your findings.
- Evaluate and amend existing models to ensure the group’s research objectives are met while strengthening the core models.
- Ascertain the link between factors relevant to well-defined projects by conducting surveys to obtain economic data and comparing previously provided data to current scenarios.
- Whenever necessary, the accounting and financial reporting systems are brought up to date and maintained. Discrepancies in the financial reporting system are corrected, and the data is recorded and reviewed to ensure that it is in accordance with the annual budget
- Workers are given the knowledge and training they need to do their jobs; requests for information or assistance from other government agencies or the public are handled within their authority.
- Use large and diversified datasets to accelerate data analysis and the development of new goods and services based on cutting-edge analytical techniques.
- Asses the effectiveness of economic policies and initiatives by compiling reports that detail the goals, objectives, policies, and forecasts that have been derived via comprehensive economic analysis.
Skills:
- managing many medium- to complex-sized initiatives while also dealing with difficulties related to data quality
- There is a maximum of one year of work experience that may be replaced for a Bachelor’s or higher degree with a non-economics major’s degree.
- Non-technical audiences must be able to understand presentations/reports.
- Economic research performed on a one-on-one basis is used to provide an individual report.
- Written and spoken communication abilities that may be used in a number of situations, including business, academia, the media, and the public sector.
