Job Description
The goal of the intern’s work in the area of social media is to raise the company’s profile both internally and outside. The company will look to the Social Media Intern to aid in the creation and execution of its marketing, communication, and public relations strategies.

Qualifications:
- Assist with media relations, including pitching, researching, and scheduling interviews if needed.
- Take an active part in the development of ideas and plans through participation in brainstorming sessions.
- Provide public relations support by writing press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, and appeal letters as needed.
- To assist in capturing images and video, carefully collaborate with the videographer.
- Contribute to the content calendar with weekly and monthly social media postings.
- collect data, create, publish, and send out authorized press releases and newsletters.
- help with media follow-up to secure client placement and track progress.
- Together with the rest of the team, monitor analytics to spot workable concepts, trends, and development trends.
- In collaboration with the marketing coordinator, reach out to and keep in touch with local, regional, and national media outlets.
- helping the marketing coordinator with copywriting for ads targeting companies within a division.
Skills:
- High school graduation, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent experience and education levels are required.
- Proficient in relevant social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and other emerging channels.
- Artist, storyteller, and all-around interesting human being who is passionate about communicating ideas visually, verbally, and in writing.
- competent user of Microsoft Office, with emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to understand marketing concepts and implement them in different contexts
