Full-Time Inventory Clerk – Amtrak – Sunnyside Yard – Balqarn
Job Description
Inventory clerks are in charge of keeping track of the objects kept in the tool room. The tool room is also kept tidy and organized by an attendant. An attendant is supposed to help coworkers with their tooling requirements and advise new hires on tools and supplies.

Qualifications:
- Maintain a strict adherence to company policy and established best practices in order to complete daily tasks in a timely, secure, and effective manner.
- The individual in this role is responsible for following established protocols and ensuring that they remain in place, as well as contributing to the creation of new protocols for activities that have not yet been formalized.
- Report any issues that may be seen during the assembly or troubleshooting operations to the supervisor and the appropriate staff using the ticket system and/or email.
- Carry out physical and cycle counts of inventory and provide reports detailing any shortfalls or surpluses.
- Keep control of the tool room, distribute equipment and supplies to the production team, return tools to the designated tool room area, and maintain the appearance and cleanliness of all business property.
- Assist with a variety of warehouse maintenance jobs, such as sweeping floors and storing equipment.
- Create and continually maintain exceptional internal and external customer service.
- Perform regular counts of workstations as directed.
- Conduct planned inventory cycle counts of Tool Room inventories.
- It is your duty to observe all relevant preventative measures and food safety policies, including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
Skills:
- Problem-solving skills are essential, along with the capacity to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Worked as an inventory clerk in a high-volume manufacturing setting for at least one to two years.
- skilled at using judgment and making decisions by weighing the relative costs and benefits of different course of action to determine which is most appropriate.
- Basic knowledge using various measuring devices including calipers and measuring tape.
- Effective communication skills when speaking to others.
