Qualifications:
- Employee status changes are logged in the system to determine whether adjustments are needed to move employees into and out of different pay plans when they are moved, promoted, degraded, or full-time or part-time.
- Directly collaborate with HR staff on monthly payroll operations such as contract pay, BenefitFocus processing, termination lump sum payments, employee termination eforms, additional pay eforms, and overpayment/underpayment analysis and resolution.
- Interact with business users to acquire and clarify business needs, and convert requirements into system functionality using best practices and offering suggestions to guarantee optimum system operation.
- Assist District workers and others with payroll responsibilities by responding to enquiries, resolving difficulties, disagreements, and inconsistencies, and providing technical knowledge about relevant transactions, records, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- This individual organizes biweekly payroll. Create each task, check the results, and repair any problems before going on.
- State and federal demands must be answered. ADHOC reports Review month-end, quarterly, and yearly payroll reports for transactions, irregularities, and comments/recommendations.
- Maintain complicated and private accounting and bookkeeping records regarding salary payments and deductions.
- Processing and editing W-2 forms according to federal and state regulations; assisting in the creation of salary and benefit cost projections for budget development and collective bargaining; maintaining accurate balances of payroll expenditures for reconciliation with the District’s budget; maintaining a detailed control sheet for each payroll period;
- Payroll preparation and generation for all District workers, including tax, social security, unemployment insurance, and retirement withholding. Employee records for taxes, benefits, membership fees and other deductible expenses should be updated throughout the district. Work out the tax burdens and make modifications as necessary.
- Perform regular audits of employee absence records to ensure that all pertinent data is accurate and in line with company policies and procedures. If modifications are required, make them as soon as possible so that data in reporting and systems is up-to-date.
Skills:
- The following Workday modules are good to know: Human Capital Management includes payroll, benefits, wages, bonuses, and other forms of pay (HCM).
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would include the majority of the requirements listed below, is required. Alternatively, the majority of the requirements could be met through an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The process of processing payroll includes time recording and final payroll tax payments. This role requires knowledge with auto-pay systems, notably with SAP software.
- Level 2 needs a minimum of three and a half to five years of recent progressive experience in comparable analytical and reporting work, including garnishment processing. Level 3 requires a minimum of five years.
- Time-reporting systems and processes desired. Work under union contracts recommended. Effective verbal, writing, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
