Qualifications:
- The Cook follows the facility menu in preparing and serving meals, including texture modified and therapeutic diets.
- The chef de cuisine must be well-organized, well-dressed, and well-mannered. He or she must also work well with others as part of a team.
- Assist with cleaning equipment and dishwashing machines as needed to keep the kitchen, tools, and utensils clean.
- To properly plan production requirements and request supplies and equipment, this person samples goods, reviews menus, estimates food requirements, verifies production, and keeps records.
- Produce high-quality hot and cold items as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds, and carrying up to 30 pounds, as well as standing and walking frequently, are all vital.
- Keeps all kitchen areas clean and organized, including storage shelves, passageways, workstations, walk-ins, refrigerators, and coolers.
- A cook is responsible for the setup, food preparation, organization, sanitation, and production of food and beverage items, as well as closing and storing each work station.
- In the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef, is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is safe and efficient.
- Meets company demands by adhering to scheduling requirements, which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Skills:
- For at least one year, you must have worked as a Cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
- If you are 18 years of age or older, you must be able to pass a background check as required by Company policy, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, former job, education, and personal references, unless federal, state, or provincial legislation prohibits it.
- Possess the ability to focus and collaborate with a variety of supervisors.
- A high school graduation or its equivalent is required, with a culinary degree preferred.
- Must adhere to all state and executive chef-mandated health department and food safety regulations, including HACCP and ServSafe concepts.
