Full-Time Market Researcher/Translator – Thar
Job Description
With written and oral assistance, the Translator helps families from across the division who do not speak English as their first language. The Translator & Interpreter serves as a liaison between staff and the varied families in our community, providing translation and interpretation services as requested by the staff.

Qualifications:
- Translates education-related papers, such as forms, urgent notifications to parents, medical alerts, legal and confidential notices, handbooks, advisories, surveys, school newsletters, and other District materials.
- Verify that translations are exact and full, and that the original text, meaning, and sentiment have not been altered in any way.
- When translating medical and technical terms, the translator looks them up in both the source language and the target language to make sure they make sense.
- Administrative duties include receptionist duties such as receiving phone calls and taking care of general queries; opening and sorting mail; creating purchase order requisitions; and verifying and preparing invoices for payment.
- Translates talks between parents and teachers about the academic development of their children, disciplinary concerns, medical emergencies, and other delicate matters.
- Flyer, social media posts, district-wide announcements/press releases, and other written materials must be accurately translated into any language. You must be able to read and write in any language.
- The text has the potential to convey information about geography, ethnicity, and culture. Translators often utilize terms and idioms that adhere to the linguistic conventions of the target language (TL) and are specific to the subject matter at hand (s).
- Make the most of your research time and effort. In order to generate textual translations and goods, one needs have a basic grasp of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- Edits other District workers’ translations. Assists in the training of district workers and consultants who provide school-based translation services.
- The temporary employee pool’s assessment results, hours spent, training status, and other pertinent data are stored in databases.
Skills:
- Translation, Foreign Language, or equivalence necessary, as well as a proven ability to communicate effectively in both the written and spoken word.
- In order to convey information, it’s important to use and encourage effective communication skills while speaking with coworkers, pupils, and others.
- The capacity to speak a foreign language above conversational level permits a group of persons with poor English competence to fully participate in the job at hand.
- Fluency in two languages at an educated native speaker level, as well as an awareness of the culture that underpins each language, is required for this qualification.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to translate in school and community contexts using one’s own vehicle
