The role of the Digital Media Planner is to work with the rest of the digital marketing team to create and implement paid media campaigns that help the company meet its strategic business goals. Brand awareness and demand generation fall within the purview of this position’s responsibilities, which also include strategy, implementation, optimization, and forecasting. The ideal applicant has an ear to the ground for new platforms and strategic techniques and enjoys building relationships, negotiating, and winning. This person should be comfortable articulating campaign parameters to creative teams and working directly with media channels. Possessing prior experience with digital marketing and B2B SaaS is very desirable. Having experience with both digital and traditional advertising would be beneficial, as this position would focus mostly on digital media procurement. To be successful in this role, you must have an in-depth knowledge of omnichannel marketing and the ability to determine the optimal media mix for reaching a specific demographic.

Qualifications:

  • Based on customer objectives, develop multi-channel paid media recommendations.
  • Create and maintain flowcharts, media budgets, media authorizations, and vendorINSERTion orders.
  • manage the campaign’s execution by third-party media companies; this may entail setting up weekly or monthly meetings with key partners.
  • Work together to roll out ad campaigns in paid media that use omnichannel strategies based on customers’ preferences.
  • Learn about relevant media and partners in order to suggest buy placements. Locate novel promotional openings that align with the campaign’s strategy and goals.
  • Coordinate with other members of the digital marketing team to develop and implement paid media strategies in support of ongoing lifecycle programs and point-in-time demand generation campaigns aimed at business and enterprise customers.
  • If you use a third-party analytics service for your advertising, make sure that your monthly vendor billing is in sync with their data.
  • Send out a request for proposals to prospective media partners for client campaigns that are in line with the customer’s goals and key performance indicators.
  • Ad verification, brand safety, and viewability should be monitored to ensure that partners are carrying out campaigns as planned.
  • Negotiate and manage paid media programs with partners in account-based marketing and strategic media vendors.

Skills:

  • knowledge of native media purchases, content marketing, and ad negotiations. working first-hand with outside media sales teams.
  • Proven track record of success negotiating media strategies and budgets with third-party vendors; ideally, candidates would have two to three years of experience in addition to their four to six years of expertise in digital media marketing.
  • 3+ years in media planning and buying across paid search, social, programmatic, and direct buys.
  • familiarity with B2B software purchasing process and ease in locating new B2B channels on the basis of industry or persona.
  • Through coordinating media buys with third-party suppliers, you can potentially reduce fees and provide your clients with more value-added choices at no extra cost.
