  • Manage billing analysts (and other offices as required) by mentoring, training, and giving ongoing feedback, conducting annual performance reviews, managing and balancing billing workloads, and monitoring direct reports’ schedules and overtime.
  • By managing internal resources and establishing relationships, ensures the success of PSCO’s CIAC Extension Policy. To adhere to tariffs, to give guidance and direction to extension colleagues. Develop, discuss, and implement consistent process improvements in response to changes in the Colorado tariff and SOX Key Controls. Monitor extension operations, guarantee proper collection and processing of CIAC payments, and allow refunds. Maintain timely communication with internal and external departments on CIAC growth. Training should be offered to all stakeholders engaged in the CIAC extension process.
  • Participate in new billing team member interviews and training, as well as develop materials to help in the education of lawyers, secretaries, and legal assistants on billing practices.
  • Recognize the need for departmental and customer training and compliance assistance. Ascertain that enough resources are set aside to meet these obligations. Provide feedback and ideas on issues impacting the company’s financial and customer satisfaction goals, as well as regulatory compliance, to different divisions within the business.
  • Demonstrate success in the following areas: training, compliance, financial effect, audit outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Make recommendations to the company’s senior executives and transmit them to them. Incorporate CIAC extension concerns into other work processes and activities by collaborating with other organizations to identify and investigate process improvements as well as possibilities for their integration.
  • Consider recommending write-offs when necessary and keeping billing rates in line with that suggestion.
  • Manages the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures and processes for the CIAC extension department to increase performance, regulatory and policy compliance and customer service. PSCO’s process and policy standardization is facilitated by this position. Identifies and pursues operational performance-related policy, procedure, and process inconsistencies.
  • In coordination with the Senior Billing Manager, develop standard processes and procedures for all phases of the billing cycle; retain current documentation of such procedures.
  • Contact lawyers and billers as needed for effective communication among partners, administrative personnel, and the finance department and billers’ team.
  • The best way to guarantee that bills are delivered in a timely manner and correctly is to keep up to date on all of the invoicing and payment terms, discount agreements, and client preferences.


  • Ability to undertake root-cause analysis and problem-solving by analyzing data and procedures and collaborating with other departments.
  • You’ll be qualified for this job if you have at least five years of experience working in the utilities business and a bachelor’s degree.
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must have outstanding time management and organizational skills as well as a thorough grasp of the scope of the project, deliverables and timetable.
  • Candidates must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, Aderant or another billing industry standard collection software, and Microsoft Office in order to be considered for this role.
