The Medical Office Assistant is in charge of managing the Front Office and making sure everything operates effectively. This job may be in charge of one or more front office support personnel. To be eligible, you must have 5+ years of experience working in a medical office.

- Assign administrative duties such as filing, faxing, photocopying, collating, and project assembly as needed.
- Communicate with directors, managers, and committee members through typing memos, letters, position summaries, flowcharts, graphs, deviation reports, and policies and procedures.
- Reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting are all part of maintaining equipment and medical supplies.
- As needed or as directed by the provider, schedules referral appointments.
- Post charges, completes paperwork, collects copays, deductibles and account balances.
- Investigates coding/billing messages submitted to clinic by medical dimensions and promptly replies to all communications.
- Triage calls according to priority and urgency, transferring calls as necessary.
- As assigned, performs administrative or clerical activities such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, greet patients, and check them out. Also, gather the necessary paperwork.
- Helps with “end of the day balancing/closing” tasks, including making deposits ready for courier pickup.
- Must be capable of working in a challenging situation and taking the necessary steps.
- Computer, printer, and fax machine skills are needed for this employment.
- One year of medical assistant training and a high school diploma are preferred.
- At least three years’ experience working in a medical office setting is required.
