Job Description
All parts of research, display, and program planning are required by the Curator. As a Curator of Natural History, you’ll be capable of creating thought-provoking exhibits and exciting community events.

Qualifications:
- Make that the museum’s programming, staff, and public interactions continue to satisfy the needs of different audiences in terms of their cognition and physical abilities as well as their social/emotional needs.
- Large-scale international exhibition and publishing projects are managed, research is carried out and exhibition and loan operations are coordinated. Projects are guaranteed to be high-quality and delivered on time and within budget.
- Participates in all aspects of the day-to-day collection management tasks. Resources such as antiquities, artworks, and archives are all cared for by the museum.
- Encourage the recruitment of volunteers, put them in suitable roles, and keep track of their progress to ensure they get enough training.
- Resolves questions from the public, keeps up with current historical scholarship and interpretative best practices, and looks for ways to incorporate historical knowledge into computer programming when appropriate.
- Provides first-contact public services via phone, email, and in person. Explains processes and performs basic reference interviews. Meets departmental requirements for promptness, correctness, and thoroughness. Interactions are referenced in records in accordance with department policy.
- Contributing to the long-term creation and preservation of collections and related information.
- Negotiates the terms of repository agreements and gift deeds. Assesses and evaluates gifts and purchases, handles loan agreements, and ensures that rules are followed.
- Research the history of computing on your own and write about it in peer-reviewed journals or books. This includes looking into the design, technology, culture, and historical significance of computers.
- Develop and maintain good proactive connections with other municipal departments, outside suppliers, programming partners, and educational institutions.
Skills:
- As a museum professional, this individual has a working understanding of museum best practices as well as the ability to communicate effectively and extraordinary with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A demonstrated capacity to cooperate with others, including workers, volunteers, and members of the general public, in a mutually beneficial way.
- A four-year degree in museum work or a related field is necessary to get four years of work experience.
- skill in developing metadata and creating digital collections, locating aids, and other archive description components.
- A strong work-life balance, openness to others’ opinions, and a willingness to accept constructive criticism are some of the qualities needed to be successful in the workplace. You’ll also need to be self-assured and motivated if you want to succeed in your new career as an executive.
