Job Description
Accompanying a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for providing in-person and telephone customer service, receiving new and refill prescriptions for processing, producing computerized or typed labels for prescriptions, preparing filled prescriptions for sale, and assisting pharmacy staff with clerical functions.

Qualifications:
- It is important to keep the area clean and organized, clean the area on a regular basis, and follow the correct disposal procedures.

- Provides appropriate drugs, information, and professional services in a helpful, compassionate, polite, and efficient way that exemplifies the pharmacy’s goal and the organization’s vision.
- Strictly adhere to Department of Health, Joint Commission, and State Board of Pharmacy standards while storing pharmaceuticals.
- Assists in developing a thorough awareness of the product’s market, rivals, customer requirements, distribution methods, and Company offerings.
- In order to properly repackage and/or label extemporaneous dosages and sterile items, refer to the batch record provided by your pharmacist.
- Alert and reorder forms are filled out when needed. Floorstock requests from patient care areas are filled out. Cost centers are charged, deliveries are received from wholesalers and other vendors are checked for expiration dates, and charges are sent to the correct cost centers.
