Qualifications:

  • Employee status changes are logged in the system to determine whether adjustments are needed to move employees into and out of different pay plans when they are moved, promoted, degraded, or full-time or part-time.
  • Check with the personnel to ensure that the data is accurate and complies with the policy and procedure. Find out whether there is a need for adjustments, and then put those changes into effect, so that the reports and systems are consistent.
  • Create and distribute paychecks to all workers of the District, including deductions for taxes, social security, unemployment insurance, and retirement. Keep the personnel records for the whole district up to date regarding taxes, benefits, organization dues, credit unions, and any other deductions that have been permitted. Perform the necessary calculations and processing for levies, as well as any additional modifications.
  • Respond to state and federal client requests. Fill the ADHOC reports correctly. Publish month-end, quarterly, and annual closing payroll reports; review transactions, fix errors, and make relevant remarks and/or recommendations as needed before distribution to internal/external clients (not including CSMC management).
  • Following federal and state rules and regulations, process and edit W-2 forms as needed; help calculate and create salary and benefit cost projections for budget development and collective bargaining obligations; keep accurate balances of payroll expenditures for reconciling with the District’s budget; and keep a detailed control sheet for each payroll period.
  • This role coordinates the company’s biweekly payroll. Create tasks, evaluate results, and solve any errors before moving on to the next stage.
  • Engaged in a broad variety of operations related to employee pay processing and administration, including the upkeep of complex and confidential accounting/bookkeeping records.
  • Employee termination eforms, extra pay eforms and overpayment/underpayment analysis and resolution are just a few of the monthly payroll-related tasks you’ll be expected to handle alongside Human Resources employees, as well as the monthly contract pay process.
  • In addition to interacting with customers, resolving issues, and inconsistencies, and providing technical expertise, you must also be able to communicate effectively.
  • Involvement with business users is essential to acquiring and clarifying company demands and translating those needs into system functionality.

Skills:

  • Level 2 needs a minimum of three and a half to five years of recent progressive relevant analytical and reporting experience, including garnishment processing. Level 3 requires a minimum of five and a half years of such expertise.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would include most of the requirements listed below, is required. You could also meet most of the requirements by having an equal amount of education and experience.
  • The following Workday modules are good to know: Human Capital Management includes payroll, benefits, wages, bonuses, and other forms of pay (HCM).
  • You should be familiar with time-tracking systems and practices. Experience with collective bargaining agreements is a plus, but it is not required. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing as well as interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Time capturing and final payroll tax payments are part of a whole payroll processing cycle. Automated payroll systems are a must, and experience with SAP is preferred.
