Job Description
A program’s execution and completion is within the purview of the Program Manager. You’ll be in charge of developing the program’s overall approach and its advantages, as well as making sure each individual project has a suitable approach and set of benefits to back up its work. The Program Manager needs the ability to speak with executives on their own, in both official and casual settings. Capable of handling program-level problems and threats with the appropriate amount of urgency. Aligning projects’ timelines, strategies, and objectives to better serve the program is preferable than managing individual projects individually. In order to be successful in this position, you must be able to lead employees of varying levels to achieve their goals in managing and supporting IT projects. Needs leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Tasked with bolstering project management skills and assisting with internal efforts to enhance process efficiency. To be successful in this role, you must be open to adopting the latest agile and waterfall methodologies, as well as any other transformation-supporting technologies (such the cloud, automation, resilience, and security).

Qualifications:
- plan discovery with stakeholders, IT resources, and vendors to help project managers create up-front estimates of time and resource utilization.
- Manage programs and/or multiple concurrent projects which are not necessarily related or interdependent.
- Oversee the program’s financial planning and coordinate with upper-level management, project leads, and suppliers to maximize the project’s return on investment.
- Project managers, various departments within IT, and suppliers must all work together.
- Foster a positive work environment, show leadership to project managers, and give guidance in perplexing circumstances.
- Effectively negotiate, exert influence, and think outside the box to resolve issues related to the project’s scope, timeline, cost, risk, and available resources.
- Arbitrate and resolve software-based disagreements when necessary. Learn the proper channels and procedures for escalating problems.
- Oversee the program’s finances, juggle many tasks, resolve concerns, and monitor development.
- Understand how individual projects affect the program/portfolio and exercise judgement in raising issues and risks to the program/portfolio level.
- Ability to maintain a customer-centric focus while effectively communicating with project stakeholders, vendors, and IT resources is essential.
Skills:
- Experience managing big IT projects from start to finish is essential, and you should have at least 12 years of relevant work experience.
- The capacity to actively listen, problem-solve, and communicate clearly with both technical and business users are among the qualities of good verbal and written communication.
- in-depth knowledge of and aptitude for managing the Waterfall and Agile project and software development life cycles.
- a four-year college degree, ideally in computer science, information systems, or a technical discipline related to it.
- Ability to pick up new information quickly and apply it in novel situations; initiative in locating crucial data.
