Job Description
The Program Manager works closely with business partners, team members, and other IT functions to ensure the timely and successful delivery of programs and projects using a structured IT project management methodology. This person will take on full responsibility for huge initiatives that span numerous projects as well as single projects. The Program Manager’s responsibilities as a member of the Governance Team include, among others, liaising between project managers, developing and updating shared schedules for all related projects, monitoring program dependencies, reporting on the program’s current standing, and keeping tabs on and resolving any problems or threats that may arise at the program level. The Program Manager’s responsibilities extend beyond mere program management to include process leadership, assistance with project structure, advice on the most effective application of project management software, and the direction of initiatives aimed at enhancing these facets of the job. The Program Manager’s responsibilities also include training and coaching the project managers under their supervision.

Qualifications:
- Provide project managers with methodical discovery with stakeholders, IT resources, and vendors to help them create upfront time and resource estimations.
- Help mediate and settle disputes amongst users of the service. Learn the right channels and techniques for escalation.
- Oversee a number of independent but interrelated projects and/or programs.
- Handle all budgeting for the program and coordinate with upper management, project leads, and suppliers to maximize efficiency.
- interact with suppliers, other IT departments, and project managers.
- Maintain a laser focus on the client while using strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and IT resources to complete mission-critical projects.
- Employ your negotiation skills, influence, and ingenuity to acquire the outcomes you desire in terms of scope, time, expenses, budget, issues, and risks.
- Facilitate productive team dynamics, set goals, and provide leadership to project managers in times of uncertainty.
- It’s important to keep in mind the bigger picture while bringing risks and challenges up to the program or portfolio level, and to exercise caution when doing so.
- Oversee the program’s finances, coordinate a wide range of activities, address participant complaints, and keep tabs on development.
Skills:
- a four-year college degree, ideally in computer science, information systems, or a technical discipline related to it.
- Capacity to tune in, find answers, and convey concepts clearly to users in both the technical and business realms. Possessing excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Experience managing big IT projects from start to finish is essential, and you should have at least 12 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to learn new things quickly and adapt to new situations; initiative in seeking out information when needed.
- possessing expert-level familiarity with, and comfort practicing, both the Waterfall and Agile methodologies for managing projects and software development life cycles.
