Job Description
It is the job of the Inventory Controller to ensure that supplies for patients and operational materials for the Pre-Op, Day Surgery Unit, and PACU are available while keeping the yearly budget in mind. Preference cards, purchasing history, and the OR schedule are used by the Inventory Controller to forecast the demands of planned surgical operations. He or she collaborates with the management to keep performance at an acceptable level in order to meet these objectives. PeopleSoft carts and integration pages are kept up-to-date by the Inventory Controller, who ensures that the par levels are maintained and supplies are fed into the OR medical record as well as surgeon preference lists for surgical operations. The inventory controller communicates changes in merchandise to the right people. The Inventory Controller functions as an interdisciplinary team member who provides necessary items for high-quality patient care and contributes to the achievement of significant goals for patients, the department, and the organization. He or she builds relationships with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and nursing staff.

Qualifications:

Skills:
- Diploma from an accredited high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with sufficient work experience in the relevant field Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting Experience with the inventory location system related to the inventory
- Effective oral and written English capabilities. Professional, polite, straightforward, and concise. Able to work with surgeons, anesthetic professionals, nurses, and other team members.
- Individuals must be able to read and interpret documents such as product tickets and delivery documentation. This professional must possess the necessary communication skills to train warehouse delivery personnel on inventory. This position requires someone who is reliable, honest, and skilled and motivated to service clients in a timely and professional manner.
- In inventory and operating room situations, demonstrates the capacity to apply technology. Includes the ability to use a computer from the very beginning. The ability to type and input data at an intermediate level. Proficient use of PS and EPIC software. The ability to use hand-held technology and download relevant data to the electronic purchase order. The ability to use/text a mobile phone in the operating room setting.
- Standing, walking, sitting and talking and hearing are all common tasks for this position’s employees. The employee is often needed to use their hands to finger, touch, or feel items and to reach with their arms and hands. Moving or lifting objects weighing between 50 and 100 pounds is sometimes required for this job. They must be able to check goods and papers visually.
