Full-Time Quality Assurance Proofreader – Topps Trading Cards – Al Namas
Job Description
The Proofreader is tasked with checking all departmental output, such as edits, new content, conversions, and citation tables, for errors. The individual performs proofreading duties on assigned documents, including checking for errors in grammar, syntax, spelling, style, and formatting and making suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications:
- Discuss job assignments and any necessary revisions to the documents with the personnel, attorneys, and management.
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required, and familiarity with the online is a bonus.
- Carefully peruse the source material or drafts in search of spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes, and flag them for revision.
- Proofread documents to ensure the material is visually and grammatically correct. Use standardized proofreading code to mark errors that appear in document.
- Return marked papers for correction, then compare the repaired version with the original.
- Be sure to keep track of any and all documents that have been subject to copyediting or proofreading.
- Possess a high level of proficiency in oral, writing, organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking tasks.
- Use technology to efficiently execute proofreading and copyediting tasks, such as ChangePro for electronic review, IM, track changes for comments, and electronic work logs.
- Having proofread documents for at least five years, preferably in a legal setting.
- If you need to make corrections to your paper’s spelling, grammar, or word usage, do it in the original hard copy or electronic copy. Assist the department manager in developing writing guidelines or style recommendations for departmental distribution, if necessary.
