Job Description
The Translator is in charge of the accurate translation or adaption of all documents. Assists with the translation of website information, marketing content, daily store communication, and corporate rules and procedures. This role requires a highly collaborative personality as well as meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications:
- Translates and edits translations completed by other District workers. Contributes to the training of District personnel and consultants who provide translation services to schools.
- Conversations between parents and teachers about their children’s academic achievement, disciplinary concerns, medical emergencies, and other delicate matters are translated by the translator.
- Capable of capturing geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural characteristics in text in general. The word choice and expression are typically consistent with target language (TL) norms and modes of expression unique to the subject area (s) and are robust enough to enable the translator to function progressively in that field.
- Handles routine office tasks such as taking phone calls, welcoming guests, answering general inquiries about the company, opening and sorting mail, generating purchase order requests, confirming and preparing bills and stipends for payment, and other similar tasks.
- Understand how to utilize reference resources. Must have computer abilities, especially MS Office, to be able to generate written translations and products, as well as appropriate internet skills to do basic Web research.
- It is important to double-check translations for completeness and accuracy, and to verify that the original meaning, tone, and purpose have not been distorted in any way.
- Databases are used to keep track of the temporary employee pool’s evaluation findings, hours worked, training status, and other relevant data.
- Included are a broad variety of school-related files, including those for students and parents, medical and legal records, and other private matters.
- Flyer, social media posts, district-wide announcements/press releases, and other written materials must be accurately translated into any language. You must be able to read and write in any language.
- For the translator to be certain that medical and technological jargon is understood and correctly translated, he or she studies and evaluates it in both the source and target languages before proceeding.
Skills:
- Valid driver’s license and readiness to utilize own vehicle while translating in school and community contexts
- Demonstrating skill in defined language that surpasses conversational level, allowing constituency with limited English language capacity to fully engage in the designated process.
- Engaging and encouraging communication skills when exchanging information with supervisors, employees, students, and others.
- The capacity to converse effectively in two languages at the native speaker level, as well as an understanding of the cultural context in which those languages are spoken, are required.
- A bachelor’s degree in translation, foreign language, or a similar discipline or equivalence is necessary, as well as proven interpersonal and writing and vocal communication abilities.
