Job Description
The Safety Coordinator keeps an eye on things to make sure dangerous things don’t happen. Develops policies to raise awareness of occupational health and safety (OSH). Prevention is emphasized, and it is necessary to be careful and analytical. Encourages the establishment of a healthy and secure workplace.

Qualifications:
- This individual develops and implements hearing conservation, chemical inventory/control, hazardous communications/SDS, ergonomics, and other programs. Annual audiometric testing is scheduled and either provided or arranged.
- Assist in the implementation of the project’s safety plan and zero-accident culture (s)
- Investigate incidents and collaborate with management and employees to devise remedies to avoid future disasters. As you put your plan in place, keep an eye on the results.
- Assist in updating and auditing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Processes (SOPs), and Lockout Procedures, as well as ensuring that employees are properly trained in these procedures.
- Assists in the timely completion of all safety-related equipment and system testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Assures that flaws are assessed for ILSM risk and corrected according to policy.
- Employees, supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders are counselled and given technical assistance on topics including worker’s compensation and fitness for duty determinations.
- Participates in and conducts safety meetings. Plan, prepare, and present or organize the delivery of safety-related trainings to a number of departments on a monthly basis.
- Managers and supervisors receive guidance and assistance in creating a safe working environment. It’s important to buy, operate, and install safety or hazard control equipment.
- Regularly assess the workplace for possible hazards and implement hazard controls before an accident happens. Determine whether any employees are engaging in potentially hazardous safety behaviors and, if so, whether more training is required.
- Consistent and reliable attendance, the ability to accomplish jobs safely, and adherence to all safety standards and procedures are all requirements for this role.
