Job Description
A School Bus Driver is responsible for transporting all pupils between home and school in a safe, polite, and timely manner. Transports kids to and from specified stops while adhering to state legislation and department of education guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Clean and sanitize the allocated bus at all times by mopping, cleaning all seats and the top, sweeping, and washing the bus.
- Maintain route paperwork, including time adjustments, and promptly alert the supervisor. Maintain excellent work habits by completing daily responsibilities and additional excursions on schedule.
- Always endeavor to advance the firm’s reputation by collaborating with employees, managers, and other passengers as needed.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle and its component parts in compliance with the company’s standards to ensure safety, decrease wear, and extend the usable life of the vehicle.
- Conduct complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and special equipment checks, and provide relevant paperwork to administration.
- Assist people with disabilities in boarding and disembarking from wheelchair lifts in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain a respectable look, which involves dressing appropriately for the job, grooming neatly, and maintaining sufficient hygiene.
- While in possession of the vehicle keys, fueling slip receipts, and pre- and post-trip documents, pass them over to dispatch as instructed by your supervisor.
- Inspect each vehicle before, during, and after each trip using proper procedures, and fill out all appropriate papers and reports. Use safe and responsible practices to drive the vehicle and stop to enable people to board and exit.
- Drive a vehicle on a predetermined route in a timely and safe manner, carrying individuals to and from certain locations and completing related tasks.
Skills:
- The ideal applicant would be adaptable, collaborative, and prepared to fill in as needed.
- Capable of lifting, storing, disassembling/reassembling wheelchairs weighing up to 40 pounds, as well as any other ambulatory equipment required by the passenger.
- On some school buses, the driver hits the emergency brake pedal or depresses the air brake button before loading or unloading youngsters.
- Passenger and School Bus endorsements are necessary on a commercial driver’s license of Class B or above.
- Must have a documented driving history of at least three years. In the preceding three years, no more than two moving infractions and one avoidable accident occurred.
