A School Bus Driver provides safe, polite, and on-time transportation for all kids between their homes and their respective schools. In line with state legislation and department of education standards, transport kids to and from authorized stops while keeping a safe and clean environment

Qualifications:
- Maintain, read, and understand route sheets, including time modifications, and notify the supervisor of any changes quickly. Make sure to keep up with routines by completing your regular duties and any extra outings on time and with as little absence as possible.
- Keep track of car keys, fuel receipts, pre- and post-trip documents, and turn them in to dispatch as instructed by your supervisor.
- Transport people to and from specific destinations, as well as associated operations, in a safe and timely way while operating a vehicle on an allocated route.
- In order to ensure that the assigned vehicle and all of its components last as long as possible while also decreasing wear and tear, you must follow the company’s maintenance standards.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers, managers, and other passengers.
- Employing safe and responsible practices, operate an adapted transportation lift to board and release challenged persons.
- Before and after each journey, make sure the vehicle and its specific equipment are completely examined, and submit the relevant papers to the administration.
- Maintaining a neat and tidy appearance at all time’s means following the dress code at work and keeping up with your personal hygiene.
- Maintain the allocated bus’s cleanliness and hygienic conditions at all times by mopping, cleaning all seats and the roof, sweeping, and washing the bus.
- Inspect each vehicle before, during, and after each trip using proper procedures, and fill out all appropriate papers and reports. Use safe and responsible practices to drive the vehicle and stop to enable people to board and exit.
Skills:
- Passenger and School Bus endorsements are required on a valid Class B or higher commercial driver’s license.
- This role demands someone who can collaborate well with others, be versatile, and step in when necessary.
- Capable of lifting, storing, and disassembling/assembling wheelchairs up to 40 pounds in weight and/or other ambulatory equipment needed by the passenger.
- At the very least, you’ll need three years of driving under your belt. Two moving offenses and one avoidable accident occurred in the previous three years.
- As a precaution, the driver of a school bus is required to apply the emergency brake pedal or to activate the air-brake button before loading or unloading pupils.
