The Financial Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and there is a succession plan in place for the Financial Controller to move into the job of Chief Financial Officer over the next couple of years. This is a hands-on position, and the successful candidate will be an analytical problem solver who possesses excellent communication skills in addition to strong technical abilities in a variety of financial and corporate areas. Qualifications:
- It may be possible for the efforts of the Finance Department, which may include the introduction of new software and systems as well as other departmental or company-wide shifts, to be supported by doing research, planning, and putting those plans into action.
- Maintains equipment inventories, evaluates new equipment and procedures, and establishes preventative maintenance standards and service contracts to ensure that all machinery is operational.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching old and new pieces of law, predicting new pieces of legislation, enforcing adherence to regulations, submitting financial reports, and providing advice to management on appropriate courses of action.
- Responds to Property Management’s requests at all levels, including the preparation of particular reports, financial results and accompanying system analyses, and the identification of possible problem areas. /r/
- Accountable for ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded and tracked in a systematic and accurate manner on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Work with internal constituents and external tax advisors to guarantee proper and timely preparation of tax returns and quarterly tax distributions in accordance with local, state, and federal government laws.
- Creates proper revenue recognition and expense accrual accounting methods that are sufficient to enable successful asset management for the organization.
- Executes investigations in the areas of research and analysis, resulting in reports that include assessments of profitability and return on investment, as well as cost data comparisons to support findings and proposals.
- Striking a balance between internal and external requirements is a must-have skill in every organization.
- Budget and financial reports are examined in order to provide suggestions for changes to the financial plan. To communicate and distribute information/results to the firm’s internal management and its parent company.

- Experience in accounting, auditing, and financial management for a minimum of ten years is necessary, along with a proven acquaintance with accounting concepts and the taxation of corporations.
- A degree in accounting that is at least four years long or equivalent experience is required, in addition to five years of experience in accounting or a similar field, with at least one year spent in a supervisory role.
- A bachelor’s degree is necessary, preferably with a concentration in economics, accounting, or finance. Strong preference given to candidates who have either a master’s degree or an additional professional credential (such as a CPA or CMA).
