Translates website content, marketing materials, in-store communications, and corporate policies and procedures with the assistance of the translator. Qualifications:

• Use reference resources to your advantage. A solid understanding of Microsoft Office, as well as basic internet skills, are required to produce written translations and commodities.
• Edits the translations of other District staff. Assists in the training of District employees and consultants that provide school translation services.
• Translate written items into any language, including flyer, social media postings, district-wide announcements/press releases, and other forms of papers.
• Medical and technical terminology must be thoroughly examined in both the original language and its target translation to ensure that the intended meaning is conveyed accurately.
• The temporary employee pool’s assessment results, hours spent, training status, and other pertinent data are stored in databases.
• The text has the potential to convey information about geography, ethnicity, and culture. Translators often utilize terms and idioms that adhere to the linguistic conventions of the target language (TL) and are specific to the subject matter at hand (s).
• Open and sort mail; create purchase order requisitions; verify and prepare invoice and stipend for payment; answer phone calls, welcome visitors, answer general inquiries; prepare purchase orders; prepare invoice and stipend for payment
• Conveys information pertaining to the school district such as forms, notices of medical emergencies, notices to parents of children with special health care needs and other sensitive documents.
• Translations must be accurate and complete to ensure that the original text, its meaning, and its purpose are not altered or omitted.
• The interpreter helps parents and teachers talk about their kids’ academics, behavior, medical emergencies, and other sensitive issues at meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events.

Skills:

• Interacting with coworkers, pupils, and others to convey information while using and improving communication skills.
• Ability to speak in a designated language at a conversational level or above, enabling constituents with limited English language proficiency to participate fully in the process stated.
• A bachelor’s degree in translation or a foreign language, or an equivalent degree, is required, as well a demonstrated aptitude for efficient written and spoken communication.
• Speak and comprehend two languages fluently, at the level of an educated native speaker, and with an awareness of the culture around the language.
• Being able to drive oneself and having the courage to do so while doing interpretation work in schools and communities
