Job Description

As a Safety Coordinator with us, you will assist the Safety Manager with the coordination and creation of emergency drills and exercises, the review and implementation of after-action plans related to real occurrences and/or drills/exercises, and other regulatory obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Conduct frequent safety inspections to detect potential dangers in the workplace and apply hazard controls before an accident occurs. Determine whether any employees are engaged in dangerous safety behaviors and, if so, whether more training is required.
  • Consistent and dependable attendance, the ability to accomplish jobs safely, and strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures are all requirements for this job.
  • Assist with the implementation of our safety policy and zero-accident culture on the project(s).
  • Investigate accidents and work with management and staff to develop measures to prevent future incidents. Implement the plan and keep tabs on its development.
  • Ensures that all necessary safety-related equipment and system testing, inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs are completed on schedule. Assures that issues are evaluated for ILSM risk and resolved in accordance with policy.
  • Other programs are established and executed, such as hearing conservation, chemical inventory/control, hazardous communications/SDS, ergonomics, and others. Schedules and delivers or arranges for annual audiometric testing.
  • Employees, supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders receive advice and technical assistance on issues including worker’s compensation and fitness for duty determinations.
  • Assist with the updating and auditing of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Lockout Procedures, as well as ensuring that staff have received sufficient training.
  • Attends and presides over safety meetings. On a monthly basis, plan, prepare, and present or organize the delivery of safety-related training to a variety of departments.
  • Managers and supervisors are advised and assisted in establishing a safe working environment. The purchase, usage, and installation of safety or hazard control equipment is recommended.
