Qualifications:

  • Examine geological and risk assessment papers for Solid Waste and Waste Cleanup submittals with District or applicable Division authorities, and assist in their evaluation. Analyze more site rehabilitation plans and paperwork for projects that your supervisors or managers have provided you.
  • Daily reports will be required to provide this information to management. It is vital for a business to maintain inventory and transfer samples.
  • Produce requests for more information, if needed, and permits/documents that are technically accurate, clear, intelligible, and compatible with specified rules, instructions, and processes.
  • The Project Manager should be informed of any issues that arise, such as cost and time overruns, scope modifications requested by the customer, or potential liability exposure.
  • Drillers must inform management on mechanical issues, hole quality, and surveys.
  • Involved in assisting solid waste and water facility permitting engineers and compliance personnel in the review of environmental sampling and water quality monitoring plans for assigned solid waste projects.
  • Typical operations include field work planning and preparation, drilling and well installation supervision, recording soil boreholes, and remedial system deployment, operation, and maintenance. Field operations will involve collecting soil and groundwater samples for contamination testing.
  • Some of the things they might have to do are prepare remedial investigations, remedial system designs, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, groundwater monitoring plans and reports, estimate costs, and write technical documents.
  • There are a slew of additional tools that must be learned in addition to Word and Excel. Those who work in remedial systems must be well-versed in mechanical and architectural systems as a prerequisite to this position.
  • Management of projects and tasks, such as working with clients, writing proposals and estimating costs, designing corrective systems, keeping an eye on the implementation and building of corrective activities, writing technical reports, and mentoring.

Skills:

  • Inspections for the installation of groundwater monitoring wells at solid waste facilities and inspections in accordance with the solid waste level of service for closed landfills are possible.
  • In a mine or factory, employees may face extreme heat and humidity, electrical shock, and dangerous chemicals and explosives.
  • To be eligible for this job, you must have either one year of specialized experience in the federal government or education that is equal to the GS-07. To meet this requirement, you must have worked in the field collecting, analyzing, and reporting on soil and rock sample data, as well as providing standard data to higher-level specialists, conducting studies or investigations, and/or helping to manage mineral locateable and saleable activities.
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university with a major in geology and at least 20 additional semester hours in any combination of mathematics and physics and chemistry and biological science and structural engineering and mining and petroleum engineering and computer science.
  • documenting geological data in a complete, reliable manner using Microsoft programs capability of doing a large number of jobs concurrently.
