Job Description

The Technical Services team, which is in charge of managing technical event production, video production, and photography, includes a videographer. All videos that are produced must be recorded and edited, which is mostly the responsibility of the videographer. In addition to facilitating video equipment repair and maintenance, the videographer maintains safe working conditions, offers the necessary production management, and ensures that the video production and end output are done effectively. Strong work ethics, good organizational abilities, the capacity to build and maintain constructive, cooperative relationships with all artistic parties (programming staff, actors, etc.), as well as with support staff, board members, and volunteers, are essential to achieving this.

Qualifications:

  • It is important to plan ahead for video productions by determining the technical requirements, such as lighting, sound, backgrounds, and special requirements.
  • Provides video creation and editing support to Technical Services.
  • gives advice on capital purchases of video equipment to the technical director and deputy director of operations.
  • Helps other Technical Services team members as needed with duties that are not connected to video.
  • Takes part in the creation, rollout, evaluation, and alterations of the video’s aesthetic toolkit.
  • Provides the required personnel with guidance on how to set up, operate, and use the event’s technical equipment.
  • Plans, directs, and records video shoots using knowledge of videography, production, and post-production techniques.
  • Ensures that all team members and location staff have access to the necessary papers and are on the same page prior to production.
  • Purchases, rents, and/or borrows equipment on an as-needed basis, under financial parameters established in consultation with the Technical Director.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Multimedia and Media Coordinator on media ingest scheduling and coverage plans.

Skills:

  • a minimum of 5 years of experience working in digital and multi-media, as well as a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in those fields, including videography and video editing.
  • Possess the people skills necessary to collaborate well with a big and varied cast of on-screen performers, team members, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Discretion and confidentiality training or expertise.
  • Talent for thriving in and adjusting to a dynamic, multi-department team environment.
  • Possess the skills necessary to instruct and/or work effectively with partners from a wide range of internal and external groups as members of a video production team.
